Workflow Administration Training and Support

  • Provide workflow standards and naming conventions
  • Provide training and documentation for workflow administration activities:
    • Listing of the various standard workflow reports used to monitor the workflow environment including the use of each
    • Guide for quickly isolating a problem and debugging workflow instances in error, common issues and corresponding resolutions
    • Instruction on the multiple workflow background jobs; the function of each job and the  frequency it should be run in the system
    • Instructions on the work item archiving process, how to find work items that can be archived and then how to report on work items that are archived
    • Identify issues with agent determination – the most common of all workflow issues are a result of agent determination
    • Directions on manipulating a work item in production as the workflow administrator: Container values can be corrected; deadlines can be changed; getting the work item to the correct agent after the work item has been delivered, etc.
    • Directions on building user-friendly Workplace Inbox by use of dynamic columns, color-coded priority work items, etc.
    • Instruction on how to diagnose workflows that would benefit from using the Event Queue
    • Instructions on how to utilize SAP Extended Notifications so that work item execution outside of R/3 can have a common look and feel
  • SAP Business Workplace Enhancements
    • Dynamic columns based on work item container elements
    • Performance BAdIs
    • Use color coding based on work item priority to have work items stand out
